I had already bought all of the Shopkins decorations that she wanted and only had to set up a date and time for the party, but I just couldn’t do it. I had a bug week!

I swear almost nothing went right.

Today was my oldest daughter’s birthday, and her last birthday was shitty.

However, today was a reminder that things don’t have to go according to plan to be amazing.

Luckily this week was more windshield.

I try to be glass half-full but sometimes things just turn out so bad I let myself have a “poor me” day and go from there. Bottom line, life sucks sometimes. Nobody’s life is perfect, especially mine. And for this weekend, I’m planning to have a quick visit to my hubs grandmother. Over the past couple of weeks, I have definitely felt like the bug, getting pummeled at every turn with work stress, tantrums from my threenager, potty training a stubborn Corgi pup, ex drama, and just random stuff going wrong. I usually say, “Sometimes your the statue, sometimes your the bird” but I know how you are feeling. Everything can change in the blink of an eye It was painful and awkward, much like the joint party that we would have for her little sister several months later. But that’s life and things do get better. I took a minute to cry and vent to a fellow mom in the locker room and then returned to our party area.

Sometimes, you just have to vent! When things immediately start off on the wrong foot from the moment you wake up, it’s hard to get past it. No matter how many times I get splattered on the windshield, I’m going to keep flying.
